More Headline Tenants Arrive at Peninsula Town Center

It has quickly become apparent to Hampton-area residents that Peninsula Town Center’s official Grand Opening on March 11th was just the beginning of what has become an ongoing string of impressive new tenant openings. Two of the most recent headline tenants to open their doors are Frank Beamer’s American Grill and the deluxe theater concept CinéBistro.

Frank Beamer’s American Grill—or “Beamer's,” as delighted Peninsula Town Center diners are already referring to the popular new eatery—formally opened its doors to the public on Tuesday, June 8th , following a Friday and Saturday pre-opening celebration the previous weekend. The celebration, which included a private Grand Opening and VIP events, was enlivened by a Friday appearance by the restaurant’s namesake and part-owner Frank Beamer. Beloved head coach of the Virginia Tech Hokies football team, Coach Beamer is a national figure, a regional hero and a local legend. Beamer’s, which blends upscale contemporary bistro dining with the energy and atmosphere of a sophisticated sports grill, is a partnership between Frank Beamer and Stephan Parry Restaurants. Executive Chef Roger Murphy is in charge of creating a sumptuous menu of regional American cuisine that includes everything from thick steaks, traditional burgers and wood-fired pizzas to fresh salads and craft beers. Beamer’s occupies a 5,000-square-foot space that includes a private party room and an exclusive “Coach’s Room,” complete with Coach Beamer’s private table.

For Peninsula Town Center guests looking for a little Hollywood star power with their dining experience, yet another headline tenant opened its doors in June. CinéBistro, which celebrated its official Grand Opening on Friday, June 25th, is an inspired fusion of cinematic wonder and dining delight. The Alabama-based Cobb Theaters CinéBistro concept provides a unique dinner-and-a-movie entertainment experience to moviegoers, bringing together a luxury theater, bowling alley and luxury lounge into one extraordinary entertainment destination. The 50,000-square-foot complex includes eight theaters, approximately 800 total seats, nine bowling lanes, and a high-end lounge. The unique second-floor space is positioned above a grand ground-floor entrance lobby and is distinguished by stylish brick interiors, glass tiles and other luxurious finishings. With plush leather fixed patron-selected seating, available loveseat-style couples seating, wrap-around tables, digital projection and four theaters equipped for 3D viewing, moviegoers are treated to the ultimate in high-end cinema comfort. Guests make their dining choices from an upscale menu featuring a selection of tempting appetizers, creative entrees and refreshing beverages, and dinner is served immediately prior to show time.

A true entertainment anchor, CinéBistro at Peninsula Town Center is the first theater of its kind in Virginia, and one of only four CinéBistros nationally. The Hampton CinéBistro will be the first integrated dine-in cinema and boutique nine-lane bowling alley location for Cobb Theatres, which operates a total of 16 theaters across the Southeast. Additional CinéBistro theaters will be opening soon in Vail, Colorado; Atlanta, Georgia and Richmond, Virginia.

Together with the June opening of Peninsula Town Center’s new Build-A-Bear Workshop (featuring a new national Build-A-Bear retail prototype layout), Frank Beamer’s American Grill  and CinéBistro are part of a larger pattern that has been emerging not only at Peninsula, but at other Steiner + Associates mixed-use centers around the nation. This strong leasing performance is further evidence that the Steiner reputation for delivering a dynamic tenant roster and a compelling mixed-use environment continues to thrive, and that as developers and project managers around the country begin to forge ahead with renewed enthusiasm, it is once again Steiner + Associates that is leading the way. For Hampton-area residents, that way forward looks like a lot of fun, with the addition of their extraordinary new dining and entertainment options.
