The Newport Aquarium is a 125,000 SF state of the art Aquarium, built in 1999. Located in Newport, Kentucky, just across from the Ohio River from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. Diverse collection of over 550 species of animals, including sharks, penguins, rare fish, birds, turtles and other reptiles. A total of 5,500 animals displayed in over 50 exhibits. In 2005, was ranked by Newsweek magazine as the #4 aquarium in the United States in terms of overall family experience.
